The history of the Chrysler corporation already, in essence, is finished. Rather recently there was an association Chrysler about Daimler-Benz and the Daimler Chrysler corporation was born. So the Chrysler lost part of the independence, though didn't lose the identity. The past of this corporation, certainly, deserves attention. For some years the Chrysler managed to rush into the Big three and strongly took the place there.
Today Chrysler costs to the third among producers of the American cars, conceding only to Ford and General Motors. Cars of such famous brands as Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Eagle and, of course, Jeeps, won unusual popularity among consumers long ago. A sales market - generally North America, but it should be noted, what even in Belarus appears more and more the cars representing Chrysler. Thanks to what Chrysler achieved such success in the first years? Generally it would be more correct to ask - there is nothing, and thanks to whom. Really, the history of the well-known firms first of all is connected not with original decisions, not with unique service (it everything is minor), and with their founders and heads. Therefore when we speak about Chrysler, we can't but remember the person who named the company and inhaled in it life: Walter Chrysler. Walter was born in 1875. Here his fascinating career: 17 years - the assistant driver, 24 - the master-mechanic, 33 - the superintendant on the Western railroad in Chicago, 35 - the manager of the American company of locomotives. Here in a chain of professions of Walter Chrysler sharp turn is planned: in the 1910th it got to itself(himself) the car.
At last, in 1925 the Chrysler corporation which was the successor of Maxwell Motor was born. The Chrysler which became the president of the new company didn't linger. The same year on the market the Chrysler 4 Series 58 was exposed. In full compliance with the name the car gathered the speed of 58 miles an hour (93 km/h). Speed, certainly, was mad the then, and soon about 4 000 dealers sold these cars. The Chrysler made powerful breakthrough, in a year having risen from the 57th by the 5th place among the American producers of cars. The company continued to make high-speed models. The following series gathered the speed of 130 km/h that almost exceeded the speed of the well-known Model T of the company Ford twice. By 1928 profits became sufficient to open new offices (De Soto, Plymouth) and even to buy Dodge Brothers. All new acquisitions were extremely successful. The prices of De Soto and Plymouth fluctuated ranging from 670 to 725 dollars. Thus, the consumer with the small income could buy cars even that significantly expanded a sales market. At the same time, getting Dodge, the Chrysler got also reputation of very reliable producer. Brothers Dodge created the well-known car which could stop by in Grand Canyon and leave from there back. By 1929 the Chrysler became the member of the Big three. However the company strongly suffered.1 - 50 | 51 - 100 | 101 - 150 | 151 - 200 | 201 - 250 | 251 - 300 | 301 - 350 | 351 - 400 | 401 - 450 | 451 - 468
