Farmall (meaning grown) is a model, and then a series of farm tractors produced by the american company International Harvester. They were the first tractors, multi-purpose to the front wheels close together, which increased their maneuverability and was quickly adopted by other manufacturers. Created in 1923, the brand was discontinued in 1973.
The series began with the Farmall Regular, was launched on July 17, 1923. It was first marketed in Texas, International Harvester, fearing the reactions of consumers to the new design " tricycle ", but soon came to a good home and was finally produced 134 453 copies between 1923 and 1927. It is driven by a 4-cylinder pushrod engine of a cylinder capacity of 3 614 cm2 and a power of 9 hp at the bar and 18 hp at the belt pulley. The first Regular was sold in France in 1927.
In 1930, launched the range of F, with the F-30, F-20, F-12 and F-14 (the number indicated roughly the power of the tractor into a horse-steam).
The F-30, launched in 1931, was the most powerful of the range with its 30 hp. It was produced in 29 525 copies.
The F-20 16-ch came out in 1932 : it replaced the original model, which was in retrospect the name Regular.
The F-12 (12 ch) was produced 123 441 copies. There was a version F-12 G (G meaning Germany) built in Neuss in Germany.
The F-14 of 14 hp was introduced in 1938. It was widely distributed in the U. S. A.
All of the Farmall was painted grey navy until 1937, where a new color, the red Farmall, replaced the gray.1 - 22
