At the moment FIAT Group represents one of the biggest corporations in the world who specializes on release of automobile and industrial transport, agricultural machinery, planes, trains and ship engines.
Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino was founded in 1899 as the enterprise for production of cars, but over time this factory expanded not only the model range and, but also developed other spheres, but about everything to an order …
now belongs to FIAT Group concern more than 200 enterprises worldwide, some of them are engaged in release of space production. Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino was based by group of investors at the head of whom there was Giovanni Anyelli. This person was the retired officer and at factory it had a cast-iron discipline. This person became the father of Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino and in due time he was an innovator in many fields of activity. It one of the first European producers who thought of automobile style also acquainted artists-stylists with development of cars. Giovanni was a socialist and tried to introduce socialism on the plant.
At first Italians were engaged in production of engines according to the license Renault, later, in 1903 after cancellation of high tariffs for import steel, began to be engaged in production of both ordinary cars, and commercial transport, and also engines for ships and airplanes.
At first the FIAT factory released cars luxury of a class only for rich people, these cars became popular not only in Italy soon. FIAT cars actively started participating in various races. By 1912 the management of the company came to a conclusion that it is necessary to stop releasing cars in the handicraft way and began production of motor transport with industrial scales. In 1912 FIAT vehicles mass-produced.
The Tipo Zero model didn't differ in special design, but had some different options of facings of a radiator. The FIAT company started ordering design of bodies of a mass production in eminent local masters (Toretta and Lokati, Zagato). FIAT Tipo Zero in a consequence as showed time became the founder of style of the FIAT company. The company grew before the eyes, and by 1922 in Europe the automobile Lingotto complex was constructed (the biggest in Europe). At this plant cars conveyor type that gave the chance to Italians to begin release of available cars were issued.
With approach of World War I the FIAT company turned in the greatest Italian auto giant. During war and after it Italians actively produced military equipment, including tanks. Throughout 1919 — the 1920th years Fiat plants endured crisis as the working started protesting (under the influence of communists). Working seized the enterprise behind the enterprise that became the reason of that production of cars stopped and only with Mussolini's arrival to Anyelli's power resumed activity of the Fiat company.
1927 the IFI holding for company management of FIAT is created (to this day Anyelli's family occupies the leading role). Italians continue to let out new models, in 1932 the Balilla model becomes very popular (more than hundred thousand copies are sold). Soon FIAT Topolino – the smallest car of the Italian company descends from conveyors, by 1955 more than half a million FIAT Topolino descended from conveyors.
During World War II, as we know, the majority of the enterprises of the Italian auto giant was destroyed, and that remained, were nationalized, the father of the Fiat company Anyelli was detached as it supported the fascist mode, soon he died. Vittorio Valetta decided to revive former glory of concern, soon at Fiat plants began to let out the following FIAT 1500 D and FIAT 1100 B, FIAT 500 C models, 1500 E, 1100 E. In 50 years Italians start making cars with the diesel engine, in 1959 cars in Italy become available, and the Cinquecentos and Seicentos models fill roads of Italy. FIAT 1100/103 and FIAT 500 cars set further the general tone in the direction of development of brand (release of compact city cars).
In the sixties the FIAT company was privatized again, this time Anyelli's grandsons became her owners. At plants reorganization was made and the FIAT 850 car descended from konver. This car shortly was sold out across all Europe in three-million circulation.
In 1966 between the Italian auto giant FIAT and the Soviet plant VAZ the cooperation agreement which result was a first-born of VAZ was signed.
In 1969 Italians buy the Lancia company. In 1979 such companies already are a part of FIAT concern as Autobianchi and Ferrari, and such brands as Maserati and Alfa Romeo were bought later.
In 1980 the revolutionary model of the company under the name FIAT Panda descends from the conveyor, which in a consequence was issued for the next twenty years. Despite the simple design, this car is one of the cheapest in Europe in the class and it can be repaired quietly in house conditions.
At the end of 80 - x and during the nineties the number of sales of cars of FIAT considerably decreased, and all because quality of cars very much worsened. In America and England started even putting ridiculous slogans and jokes concerning quality of cars of this Italian brand.
One automobile division of concern was in the late nineties closed. In 2002 losses of the company reached a record point in more than 4 billion dollars. In 2005 the profit of the company went up, but in 2009 Italians faced financial problems again, nevertheless, today the kontser of FIAT Group still expands and releases cars and commercial transport. Today the FIAT Group concern has the representations more than in 190 countries, it buys up the bankrupt automobile companies from time to time.1 - 50 | 51 - 100 | 101 - 150 | 151 - 200 | 201 - 250 | 251 - 300 | 301 - 350 | 351 - 400 | 401 - 450 | 451 - 500 | 501 - 550 | 551 - 600 | 601 - 650 | 651 - 700 | 701 - 750 | 751 - 800 | 801 - 850 | 851 - 900 | 901 - 950 | 951 - 1000 | 1001 - 1050 | 1051 - 1100 | 1101 - 1128
