Hyundai - now is well proved South Korean company on production of cars. Often on the street it is possible to meet vehicles of this company. But today the speech about sources of this brand, about its thorny road in the world of automotive engineering will go.
The Hyundai Moto company was founded in 1967, it was promoted by post-war construction revolt. None of you, probably, also didn't know that Hyundai initially specialized as shipbuilding company. But in 1968 I decided to try production of cars.
During formation of Hyundai released the "Ford Kortina MK I" car. Subsequently in 1973 the department of development was open, and George Turnbull became his head. As a result of joint works of all employees of the company the first car under the name of Hyundai was released. Hyundai-Pony 1.3 - the car which quickly found success in domestic market of Korea.
In some years after release of the first car, the company began export of the cars to other countries. To a half of the 80th years the company was completely approved in the foreign markets, and especially for them adaptation of some models was made. The firm didn't stop and made all new and new cars. The company, having gained a wide experience in work with the foreign markets, I prepared for new decade.
In the 90th years commitment of the company to own development began paying off, the Alpha engine designed by forces of the company was released.
And in 2 years of Hyundai release one more engine - Beta.
In 1995 I saw the light the second generation of Lantra cars with elegant, to those measures, a body. And exactly in 5 years the third generation of Lantra cars was presented.
The companies well moved to production: electric cars, cars hybrids and new technologies, such as strengthening of safety and reduction of amount of exhaust gases.
At the end of 1994 the company presented new generation of Accnet cars. It was noticeable as the first angular Pony car evolved in the car with the smooth and not angular case. The second generation of Accent was presented in 1999.
In 1998 the Hyundai company I endured the period, hard for it. In domestic market sales of their cars sharply fell down. But to all this new models, and including EF Sonata, brought to the company the highest estimates of automobile critics. In the company there were serious reforms as a result of which the Hyundai company bought other company "Kia Motors". Plus to this purchase HPI and HMS joined the company. All these reforms allowed firm to achieve the highest economic indicators, and thanks to these reforms the company can compete with other companies in the world market.
1999 became for Hyundai most fruitful year in their stories. After presentation of EF Sonata the company offered the public of 4 more new development: the new model Accent, Centennial, the updated Coupe and Trajet. Trajet was the beginning of a way of the company to the MPV segment.
Slightly later the elite HYUNDAI Equus model was let out, generally it intended for officials and presidents of big corporations, inside, of course, there was the corresponding finishing. Plus to everything at the beginning of 1999 was for the first time shown the Santa Fe SUV.
In a new century
In 2000 the XG/Grandeur XG model didn't change at all, the model everything also conforms to all European standards of safety, possesses an excellent complete set and the inexpensive price.
The Hyundai company, having signed the partner agreement, it is appointed the unique sponsor of the FIFA World Cup who was carried out in Japan and Korea in 2002. In 1999 the company breaks an own record on export, it made about 710 thousand cars, at the same time sales in domestic market almost reached pre-crisis level. All these above described events of 1999 promoted strengthening of positions in the world market, the Hyundai motor company can compete adequately with various brands on a global scale.
The come new millennium opened the big horizons for the Hyundai motor company, now all firm worked for strengthening of the influence in the world market of cars. In the middle of 2001 one of Hyundai plants in India put the new Hyundai Sonata car on a conveyor, and in too time at one plant in Turkey release of vans of N-1 began.
Two large companies Hyundai Motor and Daimler Chrysler in common founded the enterprise for production and sale of commercial cars.
This enterprise carried the name "Daimler Hyundai Truck Corporation". After a while both companies declared plans of coproduction of the engine for Mercedes-Benz vehicles. All this had to be made at Hyundai plant in Chondzhu. Approximate figures were are as follows: to 100.000 engines every day, and all this for Mercedes brand cars.
In 2005 the company declared the new strategy of management of a brand. The purpose of all this was updatings of image which would allow it to turn into one of the leading global manufacturers of a car and to raise the level of the company to elite of world automotive industry. A bit later two new models are issued, it is a sedan of Grandeur of the class "premium" and new Santa Fe.
Opening of new plant which price will be slightly more than 1 billion dollars, Montgomery of the American state Alabam becomes one more important event of 2005. This plant became one of the most important for the company, thanks to it it was possible to enter the North American market easily.
The Hyundai Motor Company company continues the way up, in passing breaking off the world markets the records of export. One billion dollars was invested in the new building site located near Beijing Hyundai Motor Co plant.
