The multinational group of companies IVECO conducts the history of November, 1974 — then from structure of one of major machine-building concerns Klockner-Humboldt-Deutz (KHD) of Germany the special agreement allocated office under the name Magirus-Deutz. Since the moment of signing of necessary Magirus-Deutz papers passed under the guide of the famous Italian magnate of FIAT.
The formed alliance which specialization are various cargo cars, received known to us and until now the name IVECO. At first sight and when approaching from the legal point of view, this alliance consisted of two companies — Magirus-Deutz and FIAT. But it is impossible to forget that integral parts of the Italian giant were its divisions of OHMS and magnificent Lancia plus regional offices giving to production of capacities and office in France – FIAT FranceSA known under the name Unic which also had a certain weight in the market. Summarizing, it is possible to conclude that IVECO from the very beginning was the serious holding consisting of five companies which long ago proved in the market of car makers in the most favorable way.
The management of holding made the decision not to change in a root of specialization of jurisdictional enterprises — was decided that thus the best lines of each participant of concern will be kept. MagirusDeutz still specialized on production of fire trucks and various construction trucks: the set of trucks with a factory brand of IVECO Magirus can be seen in teleplots about great world buildings of those of years. As for fire trucks, their plant still lets out under this brand.
The French Unic mostly released engines and accessories to them — not only for trucks of concern, but also for export. And to this day IVECO Unic is famous for high-performance Cursor engines with which such tractors as IVECO EuroTech, EuroStar and IVECO Stralis are equipped.
Certainly, above-mentioned merge highly affected outputs — raise demand for cars of concern of the beginnings, and in the first year outputs reached a point in 95 000 cars.
Technological break of concern a series of utility trucks of IVECODaily which and now (of course, in the changed appearance) often meet on streets of the cities is considered. The full mass of the similar car varied from 3,1 to 4,5 tons, the part of development of model belongs to plant in Brescia, and start of production fell on 1978. IVECO Daily became the most compact and brisk truck in Europe sporting besides, innovative design.
Soon after that the contract on release of the above-mentioned Iveco Daily series was signed with the Chinese car maker Nanjing Motor Co.
