The Argentinian on a nationality, Horatio Pagani, in youthful years precisely knew, than will be engaged in the future. Motoring to which young Horatio decided to devote himself completely was his passion. Already at 20-year age of Pagani could brag of very serious knowledge of area of design of sports cars. Confirmation to this fact was that practically all Argentina companies working in this sphere asked for the help Horatio.
In 1983 Pagani got over to the city of Modena which was considered then continues to be considered as the automobile building center of Europe today. However the guy had to work not bad to base own business. At first it was the Modena Design company which was engaged in creation of exteriors and interiors of sports cars, and also research of composite materials. Being on a crest of success, Horatio was succeeded to earn the first million then he remembered a cherished dream – creation of own supercar.
The crucial role in destiny of the Pagani company was won back by a meeting with the five-time winner of the competitions "Formula One", the legendary racer Juan Manuel Fanjio. Both Argentinians were respectful to each other therefore Fanjio had no anything against Pagani's creation of the car devoted to the champion. Work on the supercar began practically at once, and in the middle of 1988 Horatio could brag of existence of the first sketches of future sports car.
As the car had to be ideal, and Pagani developed it independently, it took more than ten years from the designer. By that moment of Horatio decided on sale of a controlling stake of "Modena Design", and I founded the new company called by own name.
In 1998, after Juan Manuel Fanjio's death, the designer presented the long-awaited Pagani Zonda C12 car on which the unsurpassed 12-cylinder V-shaped 7,3-liter 550-strong Mercedes engine on which use the five-time world champion during personal conversation with Horatio Pagani insisted was installed. This supercar capable to disperse to 340 km/h and to gain "one hundred" in 3,5 seconds, is made of an aluminum alloy and a coal plastic in this connection, the weight of the car made about 1,25 tons. Even the name of the car does it to the most desired among potential buyers, after all "Zonda" – the name of a gale-force wind, so often frightening the Andes.
Pagani's success became magnificent. For the first year the engineer accepted more than 100 demands for acquisition of the car, each of which was paid forward. It promoted prompt development of the company founded by the Italian with the Argentina roots Horatio Pagani who became a legend of automotive industry of the Apennines already today. And it everything in spite of the fact that Pagani Zonda C12 – the only model of brand.1 - 19
