Mazda Cx 3 Crossover Turned Out To Be Steeper Than Expected
Mazda has officially unveiled its most compact crossover, which received the designation CX-3. The manufacturer plans next year to start selling model worldwide. Previously it was rumored that all CX-3 will be front-wheel drive, but the Japanese have prepared for those who often travel on snow and mud, a pleasant surprise.
The new crossover, apparently, is structurally similar to the recently debuted Mazda2 - it is similar to a small hatch on a number of key dimensions and thus was noticeably more compact hatchback Mazda3. For example, the length of the crossover is 4 m 20 cm - Mazda3 approximately 25 cm long. The new interior also clearly reminiscent of the Mazda2.
However, unlike the Mazda2, crossover received a version with the drive on both axes. Previously it was rumored that all Mazda CX-3 will be front-wheel, so as to make the leading of the rear wheels does not allow the design of the rear suspension Mazda2. According to some reports, Mazda engineers have borrowed for CX-3 some components from the older model CX-5. It is also known that the crossover will get a new six-speed automatic.
A particular surprise was the range of motors. It was assumed that the crossover will be equipped with compact engines with a volume of 1.3 to 1.5 l, however, for example, in the U.S. Mazda CX-3 will appear with no alternative two-liter petrol engine from the family SkyActiv, the power of which is not yet called. Europeans will be able to choose from two options force the same gasoline engine or to give preference to 1.5 l diesel.
However, to Europe Mazda CX-3, seems to get in the last turn. The market debut of the crossover will take place next spring at the home market in Japan, and in the summer it is planned to start selling in North America.
